Dear Presby Family,
We are definitely in the thick of the message of Hebrews now. For the last several weeks, we have been working our way deeper and deeper into its mysteries, uncovering the rich truth that Jesus is our great High Priest. There's a good chance you have read or heard the name "Melchizedek" more in the last month than in the rest of your life combined!
Just in case we're tempted to think that we have exhausted all that the author of Hebrews has to say about how Jesus fulfills and surpasses the Old Testament priesthood, the author goes even further in chapter 9. Jesus is not only the perfect priest but the perfect Tabernacle. Jesus, through His finished work on the cross, has become the crossroads where a holy God and unholy people are brought together.
I encourage you to read Hebrews 9:1-14. As you pray and reflect on these verses, ask God to give you a greater awareness of His holiness and your need for Him. Thank Him for His cleansing and renewing power in your life. Ask Him to continue to make you more like His Son, Jesus Christ.
Pastor Andrew
